ESO RECYCLING awarded the 2024 Sustainable Development Award

15 November 2024

In collaboration with the Circular Economy Network, within the circular economy sector, the 2024 Sustainable Development Award was granted to Decathlon, together with Oldrati Group and ESO RECYCLING, for the production of Hike 100 ice cleats. These cleats are made using a compound containing 40–50% rubber derived from recycled end-of-life inner tubes, thanks to an innovative industrial-scale devulcanization process.

The 2024 Sustainable Development Award, promoted by the Foundation for Sustainable Development and Italian Exhibition Group SpA, under the patronage of the Italian Ministry for the Environment and Energy Security, has reached its fourteenth edition this year. The award was presented in recent days during ECOMONDO.

We are particularly proud of this recognition, which highlights the commitment of our brand esosport in the collection and management of end-of-life inner tubes and tires. We are present with our ESObox in 86 Decathlon stores across Italy, contributing to closing the loop of the circular economy through an innovative and sustainable project.

From the collection of end-of-life sports materials to their transformation into new products, this project represents a concrete example of circular economy in action!
